AnĀ was born from a simple, stubborn dream — to create a place where every guest feels like family, whether they grew up eating biryani or bruschetta.
Our founders arrived in Mirissa carrying two things: a deep reverence for Indian culinary tradition and a genuine love for the open, creative spirit of Western cooking. On the sun-warmed shores of Sri Lanka's south coast, those two passions found their home.
The name AnĀ itself carries quiet meaning — a breath, a pause, a moment of stillness before something beautiful begins.

Our kitchen is a place of genuine fusion — not gimmick, but conviction. Every dish on our menu is the result of patient experimentation, honest tasting, and a refusal to compromise on flavour.
A grilled tuna steak arrives kissed with lemon grass and curry cream. A poke bowl carries creamy beetroot hummus alongside fresh avocado. The pasta section sits proudly beside AnĀ's special fried rice.
We believe the best meals don't ask you to choose between cultures. They invite you to experience both — in the same breath, at the same table.

We couldn't have built AnĀ anywhere else. Mirissa gave us golden-hour light that flatters every table, the sound of the Indian Ocean as ambient music, and a community of travellers and locals who arrive curious and leave full — in every sense.
Our space was designed to feel like a candlelit dinner that never ends. Warm wood, soft ivory linens, flickering light, and the smell of something extraordinary coming from the kitchen.
